Default An unusual "anti" bumper sticker

Saw a minivan with the following bumper sticker:

Quote:
If guns are outlawed, only outlaws will accidentally shoot their kids.
Both my wife and I made this face -->

Does anyone have any statistics on "accidentally shooting their kid"? I cant imagine people accidentally shoot their kids more often than they accidentally run over them with the minivan when backing up. Maybe we should outlaw minivans?

I think they might be trying to poke fun at the fact that the anti's claim they are doing it for the children.

They need a bumper sticker that says, "My conservative honor student child beat the shit out of your future felon scumbag bleeding heart liberal whelp."

Or something like that.

Some more accidental death statistics:
http://www.anesi.com/accdeath.htm
OK so this isnt kids, but still relevant.

1996 accidental death figures:

1) Motor Vehicle: 43,649
2) Falls: 14,986
3) Poisoning: 9,510
4) Fire: 3,741
6) Drowing: 3,488
7) Inhalation/ingestion of foreign object: 3,206
8) Complications due to medical procedure: 2,929
9) Firearms: 1,134
10) Non-traffic motor vehicle: 1,127
11) Air and space transport: 1,061

I can only assume that "non-traffic motor vehicle" means "accidentally backing up over someone" or something to that effect. Meaning firearms are statistically just as dangerous as minivans. Tell that to the anti's

Since "Air and space transport" is equally as dangerous, statistically, as either a firearms related accident or a non-traffic motor vehicle accident, you are as likely to get killed by an airplane as you would to get run over by your mother or shot accidentally...

Going a little farther down they have firearms accidents broken down:
Unspecified firearms: 947
Handguns: 187

I guess we can conclude some of the 947 is handguns, but we also can conclude that most accidents involving firearms involve rifles, which means they are likely hunting accidents. Not handgun accidents, like I assume this anti's sticker implies.

OK I know I am preaching to the chior here. I'm just having some fun at an anti's expense

Edit: spelling, punctuation, etc

If they outlaw guns, next would be knives, then baseball bats, then vehicles, then trees, oh wait, can't ban trees 'cause of the spotted owl...

Point is, some just need something to bitch about and the easiest way to justify is to bring in the children..

Same parking lot, cars parked next to each other, one had a sticker promoting Darwinism, the other had a sticker "If you don't believe in God, you better pray you are right."

I would love to find one that simply said, "If you really cared that much, you would set yourself on fire"
Kinda like the monks during the Vietnam war
