Default Philly Mayor Street Blames Everyone But Himself

Amazing...

Quote:
Mayor Street said yesterday that the Iraq war is a contributing factor in the frustrating increase in gun violence and homicides on the streets of the city.

Funny how overall crime and school violence is lower now than ever in the 90's yet he says it's worse than ever.... Perhaps he should take a reality pill.

Do you have to be dropped on your head as a child in order to be the mayor out there?

Pretty much. As long as you're a Democrat, you can be mayor of Philadelphia. Democrats consistently get 80% of the vote in Philly. Nutter and Fattah seem like even worse candidates for mayor.

Philly hasn't had a Republican mayor since 1952. Maybe it is time for a change.

EDIT: WOOHOO I JUST HIT 100 POSTS!!!! Do I get a cake?

Finally, proof that the idiot is on crack. Un-freaking-believeable! Iraq is causing the increased violence on the streets? Although he may have a point, albeit minor. Think about it. One of the largest groups among the reserves are police officers and firemen. With fewer of them to patrol the streets that could account for some of the increase. Especially when he has cut the police budget and the number of new officers coming on board to spend more on "social programs" like making sure that Milty wins city contracts.

You get the same thing I gave aubie when he hit 800......

enjoy!

Philly and area must be saturated with NJ and NY former residents.....I don't think a republican will win there any time soon, just like an actual republican would in NY/NJ

I think the only point he has is that violence exists. This is a fact. However, to say that the Iraq War is causing this is absolutely ludicrous. Violence has existed since the beginning of time.

Oh, btw, if you guys want some free groceries, Philly is having another gun-by-back program soon. Feb. 10 at the YMCA, 52nd and Chestnut streets.

It's really incredible. Theoretically some gang banger could go murder someone and then turn his gun in and get money for it. Great system.

Yep...it's all those inner-city guys coming back from Iraq with PTSD. Oh wait...that's not what he meant????

The man is an idiot...what else needs to be said. When do we start blaming prime time TV for all of the out of wedlock births and drug addiction?

Aside from all the other garbage we've had dumped on us by this POS is 'Gun Court'. He claimed that this would help w/backlog of gun cases;streamline the system, control violence and reduce crime. If they actually put the animals in jail it would work. The reality is this : Guilty pleas get probation. We gripped savages w/multiple VUFA f/probation violations and they got out in some cases - 30days.
In his first term he spent city $ on bullet proof glass for his private gym @ City Hall.
Guess he knew something we didn't.
