Default Paperwork from Sheriff's Offices when you get your LTCF

How many county Sheriff's give out simple fliers when they issue LTCF? I know that Franklin County had some, but they ran out during Wollyung's regime and he never got any more printed.

As an aside, one that I found funny:

When I received my first permit in Cumberland County, the Sheriff's Office handed out fliers with simple suggestions. My favorite?

"Avoid carrying your handgun with you at all times. Only carry it when you think it might be needed." (No, I'm not making this up.)

I read this over while waiting for the permit to be laminated, and I asked the nice female deputy there about it. She really didn't have an answer.

I did tell her that if I thought I was going to actually need the gun when I went out, I'd stay the hell home, or take a rifle instead of a pistol.

Do a lot of Sheriff's Offices hand these things out?

Lehigh County hands something out, but I threw it away right after reading it, and I do not recall what it said. Mrs. Plinker will be going for her LCTF soon, so perhaps I will have more info in the near future.

Nothing from Montgomery County... although he did say "Do not go into any neighboring state with your handgun, they don't like that"

Chester County had a basket of gun locks and a stack of flyers. They took my mug shot when I brought in my application and when I gave the clerk the check she pointed to the basket and said take what you need, so I took a lock and a flyer. All it had was suggestions for keeping guns safe in the house and away from your kids or guests using various types of locks and safes. When it comes to gun control, the Chester County Sheriffs office and I seem to agree, it's our responsibiliy as owners to control our guns, not the lawmakers.

Same here. Montco guys just told me to make absolutly sure I didnt leave the state with my gun since NJ, NY and MD all would throw a shitfit. We are too far from the WV border to even bother bringing up that exception so it didnt matter. In any case the only advice he gave me was not to take it out of state.

When I picked up my "police check card" from the Norristown police station they tried to hand me a bunch of gun locks. I thought this was funny. I didnt take any because I already have one for each gun I have, and they stay in the box they came in - not sure what I would do with even MORE useless locks?
