That is a point I have been trying to make for YEARS. The PSP are an arrogant group. Laws do not apply to them. They laugh, drink, and let their arrogance lead their lives.

Years ago I saw an ambulance on 22 west of Altoona with its lights & siren on. Running cars off the road and ignoring any & all safety rules. Minutes later I saw the ambulance turn its lights off and pull in to a pizza shop. I have always wondered how the people in the ambulance would have felt had someone actually been hurt during their antics.

I am outraged at incidents like this. We are law abiding firearms owners and carry our weapons in a legal manner. As citizens we should be treated with respect by the LEO community. This type of thing is really starting to PISS ME OFF! These type of incidents should be responded to agressively by us in the appropiate legal forum. I wish you luck good sir.

Here, the police are in a hurry to gather at the BP at the end of the street. They must brew fresh coffee at a certain time.

I do not mean to bash LEO but this is the case for almost all LEO. I have a friend who is LEO. He will drive his motorcycle 100+ mph and when pulled over just shows a badge and continues back to 100mph. Unless a police officer is truely dirty, they are and will continue to operate with impunity. Law enforcement is a tight group and usually will not turn on a fellow officer.

Yup; I knew a LEO who used to brag about the fact that his motorcycle wasn't inspected or insured.

I went over the OC/CC thing last week when I qualified my department. We talked about the OCB incident and the running of serial numbers on stops.

The statement/question I posed was; since OC/CC is legal in PA, why are you running the serial numbers of a handgun say, during a traffic stop? One or two answered, to check if it is stolen. Citing Commonwealth v. Hawkins, I asked them to explain their actions because they have no reason to believe the gun was stolen.

Disarming the person for officer safety was mentioned which is usually the reason the officer ends up with the handgun. Some said, well since I have the handgun (for officer safety) I might as well run the serial number.

After all the discussions were over I think a few more officers have been made aware of the gun laws of PA.
Alright officer, just what do you think you're doing providing proper training in PA firearms laws to other officers? Shame shame shame. What will the DCPD think when they learn that other departments are failing to follow their exemplary lead?

Seriously though, Rep'd ya for your efforts. Keep up the good work.

I am in no way trying to start a personal attack on any single PSP. On the other hand I know what you are talking about. They laugh about how fast they can get to Florida for vacation, stating that they will "flash my badge" if they get stopped. Hell, even their wives laugh about what they can get away with.

I have a friend who is a deputy sheriff in a neighboring county. He always swore he would never use his badge to get out of anything. I was with him the day he got stopped for speeding and he damn near shoved his badge down the officer's throat! Oh, yes. The officer left him go.
