Unintended Consequences or Pardon, IMNSHO.
Someone in the Bush Administration needs to fix this ASAP - this should never had gone to trial and now that it has, the man needs a pardon.

If Bush won't let Border Patrol agents out of prison for keeping drug runners out of our country, I doubt he'll concern himself with this poor bastard who got convicted for having a broken rifle.
