That's probably what it will take to get some people seriously pissed off. If they ever want to pass gun control legislation.. they'll stay away from hunting arms. That's probably part of the reason that people just call it an AK and lump them all together.

I still want to know why the Nutter, Rendell and Ramsey are not up in arms about our disfunctional criminal justice system that keeps putting these thugs back on the street? When will these "politicians" start addressing the rot that infests certain neigborhoods in Philly?

I'll tell you why - it costs MONEY. Much easier to blame a gun and try and ban it when that will do no good.

Take a lesson from England, Mr. Reporter.

If you guys want to help him, go for it.

625: I truly do not care to get into a pissing match with you; however, I can not understand a downside to giving the guy accurate information. What don't you trust? The guy came here voluntarily looking for accurate information that hopefully would be incorporated into future dialogue regarding this issue. What would be an ulterior motive that would cause distrust?

Are you really that naive?

http://www.pafoa.org/forum/general-2...nterviews.html

Do you think that this happens only with TV news stories? Happens all the time with "news people". People are intentionally misquoted all the time. They are taken out of context, etc.

Next thing you'll see in one of his stories: "WitsBusa, a self-proclaimed gun expert and recreational shooter, agrees that there is no need for civilians to own assault weapons".

If you feel the need to help this jackass, go for it. I'm not holding you back.

I see your point, though I hope I am right in my disagreement. As an aside, do you really think I can make it into the paper if I'd say something asinine like that??

Do you honestly think that giving him a hard time is going to make him think better of the shooting community or is it going to make him feel that we are a bunch of hot-headed, knuckle dragging, neanderthals? Personally I believe it is the latter and that is not the type of image that I, or the vast majority of those on the board, want nor is it an accurate image. I normally have few qualms about your posts but this time, IMHO, you are presenting all of us in a bad light.

This is really pathetic.

It's bad enough we have to fight against people who don't know the facts, yet present them as such, but now we are fighting each other.

Brilliant.

I have to agree with billamj. Treating this guy poorly does nothing for us. If he misquotes one of us, if he twists our words, it won't have been the first time that it happened. But if he doesn't, if he's willing to listen to listen without prejudice, then we stand to gain an ally, at best, or defuse a potential source of bad scoop, at worst. How many receptive ears can we count on in the MSM, anyway?

Brilliant.

Isn't having a dialogue and discourse between each other regarding issues important to us the point?

And expressing differing views regarding a topic like this doesn't mean "fighting". I don't see anything particularly uncivil about this interaction or self-defeating.

You'd prefer we all adopt the same opinion? And whose would that be.. No discourse, now that would be pathetic.
