Haa Ha!

Kaos - You're a smart guy!

Notice how he doesn't give us the link to his other forum? He prolly knows that a few of our more....uhhhhh.....aggressive members would go over there and take up the fight.

I totally avoided the 'domelights' thread. I won't say that it was wrong for some of our members to go over to their house and stir it up.....it's a free country.
But I understand Kaos for NOT sharing his other forum (If, in fact, that's the reason he didn't post a link) and we shouldn't pressure him for it.

OT comments over.

Kaos: Here are a couple of links to articles that may help.

From BBC News article:
Quote:
For instance, in Northamptonshire, gun offences tripled in 10 years...
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/7160045.stm

From Reason.com:
Quote:
Gun Control's Twisted Outcome...Restricting firearms has helped make England more crime-ridden than the U.S.
http://www.reason.com/news/show/28582.html

Another article from the UK:
Quote:
We must get tough on knife crime...
http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/north...2703-20290026/

And again from the UK:

Quote:
KNIFINGS AND SHOOTINGS UP AS MURDER RATE SOARS... Shocking statistics released last night show a 14 per cent increase in murder and manslaughter in England and Wales between 1998 and 2007...
http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/...der-rate-soars

Hope these help.

Mabar

Here is another good article:

Quote:
Tackling knife crime .... Last weekend saw two more teenagers stabbed to death, adding to a trend in knife crime that is unprecedented in living memory.

In London, more than 12 young men have been killed by knife attacks in the past year. This wave of murders is clearly not an invention of the sensation-seeking media. Nor is it an urban myth. Anecdotal evidence of a fashion for knife-carrying (sometimes in the misguided interest of self-defence) is corroborated by the objective facts.

The Centre for Crime and Justice Studies at King's College London has reported a staggering increase in the use of knives in muggings from 25,500 to 64,000 in just two years.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/opinion/m.../18/dl1802.xml

Anybody who uses England as an example of how well gun-control keeps violent crime down, is just plain nuts.
