So it's not the normal "sproinnnggg" sound?
Weird, does the buffer itself show any signs of wear? Have you tried swapping a spring/buffer from one of your other rifles to rule those out of the equation?

If it's the typical spring noise you can vitually eliminate it by a "light" coat of lithium grease on the entire spring. I do mean light!

+1 on the light grease.... I put I very thin coat of rig grease on the spring and in the tube and it helped alot with the buffer noise .... also maybe make sure the spring is the correct lenght and not too short and banging around ... definitely no expert on the AR , just some friendly advice

Grease it.
I use Garand Grease, (in the little brown pots with the yellow lids...)works like a charm. Never hear that spring again.
