What will be terrifying is who will be allowed access to check the databases etc. Banks, job apps etc. What about when you walk into a concert or ball park? When you go to the local park for an arts event, will they knowingly take a pic or use hidden video cams?

I was at home that night. Well, we seem to have asked the computer and it clearly identified this picture of you from the arts festival from 2-6pm. Then here as you walked on Liberty street at 6:30. Now, you did not reach the parking lot until 7:00 which should be a five minute walk. Did you go to a bar there first??

You 'get the picture'.

Just set a large magnet on it over night. Or find it and take a hammer to that spot in the passport.

Yup. Cameras will be going up everywhere. Pittsburgh has a nice large contract with companies designing special facial recognition software already. Thousands of state employees with access to your info willing to sell identities for $1 a piece. This has happened how many times already? How many times have veteran's private information been stolen? And yet this real id is supposed to protect our privacy more. Your entire life on a card, erased at the stroke of a key.

Without the card you cannot drive, fly, open a bank account, go to the post office, enter any federal building, etc. They're also tying your social security number to the card. Both the Driver's License and SSN were NEVER to be used as forms of identification, and they both will be. Even worse is that people that are not enrolled in the social security program will not be able to get a driver's license, e.g., the Amish.

I don't think RFID chips are sensitive to magnets. The hammer would work though. Microwaving for 5 seconds works too, but may catch your passport on fire. ahha

Here's a summary of from Jim Compton (RTR Pennsylvania State Coordinator) about today's activities in D.C.

Quote:
Good evening, Volunteers,

We had a super day at the Capitol. Ten volunteers from Lancaster County showed up at 10:00 and by 2:30 in the afternoon, we had passed out an article by Attorney Linda Sargent titled "A Second Opinion, Is the Real ID Act Unconstitutional?" She did an excellent review in the article and the "right to be left alone, the right to bear arms, the right of religious freedom, and the right to assemble and come and go as Americans are accustomed to doing" were covered.

We passed out the article to all the members of the Intergovernmental Affairs Committee and the Representatives and Senators who have not yet sign on as co-sponsors to their respective bills rejecting Real ID.

And guess what? Three more Representatives signed on as co-sponsors today!. They include representatives Ken Smith, Chris King, and Thomas Quigley. Three others indicated that they might also co-sponsor. New faces in the Capitol equal more co-sponsors. In additional, we got lots of feedback that the calls about Real ID are coming into the Capitol.

All I can say thanks and is keep up the great work. We are making progress.

Tomorrow will be an important day in Scranton. The meeting starts at 10:00 in the Collegiate Room of Redington Hall at the University of Scranton. Address is 1120 Linden Street, Scranton, PA. Let's have a great showing. If you have a video camera, please bring it along. Adam in Pittsburgh is a great video editor. Sorry Adam, had to give you a plug.

If you missed Adam's Scranton Real ID Video, here's the link: http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...94590125948082

Take care; get a good night's sleep and hope to see you in Scranton tomorrow morning.

Scary stuff. Check out the novel "The Turner Diaries" It`s not a pretty book but it was written in the early 70`s and the story takes place in the 80`s early 90`s, What was going on then looks like what`s going on now.

Thanks for the reading recommendation. I'll check it out some time.

Check out this movie called They Live. It's an old 80's movie and has Rowdy Roddy Piper in it. It has some great one-liners in it, but more strikingly it has an interesting societal and political message relevant to today's happenings.
