That has to suck. Sometimes it pays not to even inform them that you have a weapon in the car, since you don't have to by law.

Question Re: First experience with LEO while carrying.

One question I have -

I keep seeing references to an "illegal" PSP database. My LTCF package contained three copies of the license. I keep one, Sheriff gets one and PSP gets a copy. So where is this information then stored? If its in some database then where does "illegal" fit in?

Thanks,

Jamz

The database you keep hearing about is the one that is compiled from firearm sales information. This information is supposed to be destroyed, but it isn't, it put into a registry database which is against the law. The PSP has been sued over it. It has been taken through the court system all the way to the SCOP, where it was ruled that it was not a registry because it was not a complete record, as there are firearms that don't go through places required to report to the PSP. The PSP uses it to determine ownership, and also makes it available to local LEA's who use it the same way, which in both cases is against the law. Or not depending on if you are a SCJ who makes it up as you go along......

When those two idiots out of Swiftwater (Sweick and Osterhout) injured me then checked every gun I had in my vehicle against their non-existant database, our pal Sweick made a big issue over an 80-year-old gun I had with me that was not on their non-existant list. Since he made it clear that I was being "detained", and I would not be released until all of my guns "checked out", I knew it was going to be a long day. Too bad PSP is tainted as filing a complaint got nowhere...you know...the brotherhood. They wouldn't even reimburse me for my medical expenses, even after the corporal at Swiftwater suggested that I should seek medical attention.
