Default Re: Be Ready for School Shooters and School Takeovers

Nobody who wants to ban guns is willing to place a sign on their own front door that says "THIS HOUSE IS A GUN-FREE ZONE", because they know that it makes them a target.

But for some reason, they want to effectively give out that same notice to bad guys for EVERY home.

These people know that a victim who is definitely unarmed is a juicy target for thugs. They are not willing to stand up and tell the thugs of the world "I am unarmed and proud of it." But they want the government to make you do it.

I'd like to have teachers vote on whether to allow guns in schools (it would take more than that, but bear with me.) And we'd tell them that their convictions would be made clear, each classroom would bear a sign, "THIS TEACHER IS UNARMED" or "THIS TEACHER IS ARMED", depending on how they voted. Since they assure us that armed citizens have no effect on crime, I'm sure these teachers would agree that they aren't at any greater risk from an armed intruder just because of signs like that.

[quote=Everyone who owns a gun should take it upon themselves to get trained up and be able to, at a bare minimum, pass the same qualification test as their police and practice enough to remain proficient. [/QUOTE]

Preferably WITHOUT shooting oneself in the hand.

I agree...basic proficiency is a must for every serious gun owner.

There are some schools around here that have a cop in the building; in some districts, they expect HIM to be unarmed!!!!!
There is the height of stupidity.
