Default Apology to the Community

To The Community:
I recently recieved an infraction notice from Emptymag concerning a posting I made. To the community I aplogize. It was merely in jest and I meant no harm, but nevertheless it was a stupid thing to say.
But some good will come of it. Emptymag taught me a bit more of our sport and protecting it. I'll be much more alert now about how I discuss firearms either here or within my daily travels, with an eye towards promoting the positives of our sport. The notification was forceful yet allowed me the room to correct my action....tackful but to the point.
I offer my sincere apology to those I may have offended and publicly thank Mr. Emptymag for setting me straight. He protected all of us from one of us. Job well done.

Well, thanks for owning up to your mistake and not going away mad after a reprimand! It takes a good person to admit a mistake and a better person to learn from a mistake! Looking forward to having you participate in the community!

Better to screw up here discussing guns than to screw up while using guns.

Open mouth, insert foot? Been there, done that.

If a little meaningless infraction is what taught you that you need to be more aware of how you handle things with this hobby than others than I say you found out the easy way.

I suppose your right....better I learned here than with some antigunner who sees no reason to protect anything they love.

You're welcome, EsSwnn. And thanks for the compliment.

I don't feel that you had a reason to publicly apologize, but if you feel the need to do so, I applaud you for it.

For the record, the infraction that was issued was a "warning" and carried no "points". Before the infraction system was put in place, I would have simply sent a PM to EsSwnn. While the word "infraction" sounds ominous, it's simply a more efficient, organized way to handle these things when they pop up.

If you get an infraction, and especially a "warning" infraction, it's not the end of the world. Some people get belligerent over such minor things. It's refreshing to read what was posted above.

lol, you MODS have it easy over here. Come to the site I moderate, when I give someone a warning infraction, I get several angry PMs. If I give a Temp Infraction, I get my life threatened, if I give a PERM infraction, I have to sell my house...

Not really that bad, but... lol
