Kinda sounds like these guys dont know the Law pertaining to OC and CC ..... Maybe a posting of that pamphlet is the best way to go... Hopefully some of them might read it and check further to find that its valid and truthful.

The first reply really made me angry.

"I believe the permit allows you to carry a concealed weapon. It would not be harassment for a cop to stop you and inquire about the weapon and you permit. The cop would be crazy not to stop you. Depending on the situation I may contact the Gun Permits Unit to see if you violated, or I may take you permit and sennd it to the Gun Permit Unit for revocation."

Looks like they don't want to acknowledge this discussion much thus far. I'm interested in seeing how this goes...good idea asking in a LEO board for their views on the topic.

i registered and tried to post a reply with a link to PA v. hawkins.

but, i got an error saying i was not allowed to reply to the topic...not sure why.

at any rate, you might want to post the link to PA v. hawkins and suggest some of them read it. here is the link:

http://www.courts.state.pa.us/oppost...f/k00jiz95.pdf

EDIT: i was able to reply...i guess i moved a little too quickly for their registration process or something.

The most recent quote should piss a lot of us off.

"That flyer is all well and good but if you open carry around me you can be sure that you will be on a wall with your firearm in my possession until we figure out if you have a valid license to carry any lip and you will find your a** in cuffs this is not a game so shove you can stupid flyer up your a**."

This does not sound like the statement of someone sworn to uphold the law. I find it sad that anyone could harbor these types of feelings. I am willing to cooperate with a LEO, because I understand that a certain degree of caution must come with that badge. One would think that they would share the same sentiments when dealing with someone who has paid for their right to defend themselves.

I'm very new to this, and actually still waiting for my Chester permit, but people like this officer will probably keep me from OCing for a good long time.

Wow, that conversation is just excellent. What i would give to have some of those guys' names and departments so I could send a copy of the thread to each of their cheifs/supervisors. Would love to watch the guy who promised to put us 'on the wall, with [our] firearms in [his] possesion' defend his statement in person before his superiors.

And since when is a Glock .45 a 'big gun'? Must make my Ruger ant-air artillery.

Where's the 400 lb. gorilla when you need him? Anyone have a link to the letter PA Pat had for the CLEO's and sheriff's? I'd like to get them sent to every district of the Philly PD.
