You know you're from Pennsylvania when...
If anyone can think of anymore to add to the list let me know and I'll add them.
1. "You'ins" is a word.
2. You get time off of work/school for deer season.
3. You end every sentence with the word "then"
4. You don't think people from Philly or Pittsburgh talk funny.
5. You've never referred to Philadelphia as anything but "Philly." And New Jersey has always been "Jersey."
6. You refer to Pennsylvania as "PA."
7. There is no such thing as a "Philly Cheesesteak". It's just called a "Cheesesteak."
8. You learned to pronounce Bryn Mawr, Wilkes-Barre, Schuylkill, Bala Cynwyd, Duquesne, New Tripoli, Tunkhannock, Punxsutawney, Tamaqua, Susquehanna, Shamokin dam, Allegheny, and Monongahela.
9. You know what a "Wine and Spirits" is.
10. Driving is always better in winter because the potholes are filled with snow.
11. You find 20 degrees just a little chilly.
12. You can recite the four seasons: winter, still winter, almost winter, and construction.
13. Words like "hoagie", "crick", "chipped ham", "sticky buns", "shoo-fly pie", "pierogies" and "pocketbook" actually mean something to you.
14. You can use the phrase "fire-hall wedding reception" and not even bat an eye.
15. You think very little of an Amish buggy on the road. Or don't even notice them at all.
16. You learned long ago how to "step carefully" around the buggy tie-ups in the supermarket parking lot.
17. You can go 2 weeks in winter without sunshine and think this is normal.
18. You know that Blue Ball, Intercourse, Bird-in-Hand, Mars, Venus, and Slippery Rock are all PA towns.
19. You not only have heard of Birch Beer, but you know that it comes in several colors: Red, Blue, White, Brown, and Gold.
20. You live within two miles of a plant that makes potato chips, corn chips, pretzels, candy, or ice cream, or that packages turkeys, beans, or bologna.
21. You only buy your beer and soda by the case.
22. You know you can't buy hard liquor where you get beer.
23. You prefer Hershey's Chocolate to Godiva.
24. You frequently go "with," e.g., "You going to the market? Mind if I come with?"
25. You know that chicken corn soup from a fire house is the most nearly perfect food on earth.
26. You say things like, "Outen the lights," "I'm calling off today," and "They're calling for snow."
27. You've heard of distelfinks and hex signs.
28. You know what a "statey" is.
29. Your version of the English language contains no form of the verb "to be". For example, "the car needs washed" instead of "the car needs to be washed".
30. You do something "awhile". "You should bring that wrench over awhile". "Go back and grab those boxes awhile"
