You don't.
You should have the name and address of the FFL that you are sending the gun to.
If I were trading, I would talk to the receiving FFL and work out an arrangement for them to hold the gun until the gun you are receiving has been delivered to your FFL.
I usually request an elaborate sales contract with my sellers, before the gun is even shipped I want the serial number a well worded agreement. You can get totally nuts and request a written sales/trade agreement, and have it notarized and mailed.
If you've all ready done the deal and are just worried about getting stiffed, I'd call the receiving FFL ASAP and see what you can work out.
If you do end up getting stiffed, contact the local LE wherever the guy is that hosed you and get them involved and/or get an attorney to do it.
But without a well worded agreement of some form, it
could turn into a your word against his type of thing.
I've never done a trade with a stranger, actually, I've never traded a gun to an individual, but the above process is basically a good starting point to cover your ass.
