Default was at SPAG this morn..

My last day off I decided to make some noise and take a trip to SPAG to see how shooting is there. I have not been there in a while.. Well it was and still is a very nice range.. One of the best I think .. Treated me nice, not overly overbearing while at the range.. VERY clean and love the electronic taget returns.. really like this range..

YEs, SPAG is very nice place.

Their prices are a bit on the high side, but if you got a membership, its certainly the best range I've ever been to.

+1 on everybody who works there. Always respectful, always polite and always a pleasure to talk to.

"South Philadephia Archery & Gun"

go on Google, type that name, and it'll bring you to a thread on this site with all the info you could ever need.

I assume you mean the timed friend/foe target flippers. They're awesome and add a time factor to your practice that adds a whole new dimension (well, duh, the dimension of time).

yes.. Im a simple Polish boy so I did not do any fancy friend or foe flippers.. I just loved the fact you can set a distance in feet and the target runs out to the exact distance.. very cool

Believe me, you'll see the value immediately.

To those unfamiliar with SPAG, they have targets that can be electronically turned 90 degrees in either direction, based on a timer you set.

So the target sits sideways, and you enter "timer" then "2" and it will quickly turn to face you, remain for 2 seconds, then turn back away. So you have a known and fixed amount of time to bring the gun on target, and deliver the number of rounds to the number of specific target positions you decide to.

It immediately forces time-discipline on the gun's presentation, front sight recovery between shots, and new target acquisition. The time factor is really hard to add otherwise.

You can also have two targets on the one target holder, with their backs to each other. Then if you click "friend," one target turns to face you; if "foe," the other target faces you. I guess this would facilitate shoot / no-shoot drills, provided you have someone else there to select, so you wouldn't know what was coming.
