Default Buying Ammo

As of lately buying ammo hurts! The prices have doubled since I have been shooting and they don't look like they will go down anytime soon. However the question I have is more geared towards OC and buying ammo.

I am a big advocate of OC and do it almost all the time in the summer. However I have had instances in the past that do not sit favorably with me.

So my question to the full time OC guys is where do you buy ammo? And what is the reaction you get when you try to buy ammo for the gun you are carrying?

Default Re: Buying Ammo

Well, I'm not a full time OC guy, and I own my own shop, and I reload. But that said most local shops I've been in would not say anything, nor would any eyebrows be raised. Now going into Wal-Mart may or may not cause a scene. I know most of the guys that work in the sporting goods sections in the 2 Wal-Marts here in State College and they wouldn't say a thing. There is no law that I know of that says you can't buy ammo if you are carrying a gun. The store may not sell it to you but that store would not get my business any more.

Default Re: Buying Ammo

I purchased my original carry ammo when I bought my pistol, so no OC there, lol. Since then, I have purchased all of my ammo while OC'ing, and have not gotten even a raised eyebrow. In fact, the last time, when I changed over to the Hydrashoks, I was talking to the owner and wound up leaving about 30 of Pa.'s flyers there.
