Nobody really has any "in their name" either. Guns are not registered to specific individuals. Only records of transfer/sale. I cant believe that your dealer didn't know this Last edited by skyjerk; April 14th, 2008 at 08:53 PM. |

Handguns can be gifted to immediate family members, WHO ARE UNDER 21. I'm not doing the work on this one, look up the UFA. You can't get a LTCF until 21, but you can own a handgun.

You can own a handgun if you are under 21, but the transfer must be done through the sheriff. From what I have read though, not many sheriffs seem to be willing to do this. A FFL cannot sell or transfer to anyone under 21.

You can either have it transferred at the sheriff's office, or have your parents/grandparents buy it as a gift to you. "Gift" meaning they have to pay for it with their money, but I can't see how they'd know where the cash came from.
My parents bought my pistol, and I'm 18.

Yep just give your dad the money and tell him what gun you want and have him buy it. He can legally then "gift" it to you. And you can legally open carry.
