The tapes they make of the purchase are kept unlike the tapes recording front teller transactions. Those are recorded over after a period of time.

And if they run a background check on their employee that handles guns and finds out they are in the country illegally, then what?

Folks,

It's important to take action here, even though the practical implications of it are basically that Wal-Mart agrees to follow federal law, with a few extra things they are probably doing anyway. But the reason we have to take action is because Wal-Mart just handed a massive propaganda victory to Mayor Bloomberg and his group of gun grabbing mayors. They have bent the world's largest retailer to their will, and they will bend others. We all know full well it won't stop at symbolic concessions either.

I would encourage everyone to write Wal-Mart and tell them how you feel. Tell them you'll take your shooting dollars elsewhere. If they don't hear from gun owners, and don't worry about losing business, other retailers will cave too.

Tell them you are going to take your FOOD dollars elsewhere and your CAR CARE dollars and your LAWN CARE dollars. Don't waste time with your shooting dollars comment because they could not care less! Thier firearms and ammo sales have always been thier loss leader, it is nothing more than a business ploy to get the husband and his wallet there while the wife shops for groceries and such.

Yeah, definitely, if you can swing that. I know for a lot of folks the Wal-Mart is pretty much the only choice, so I didn't want to ask people to make a sacrifice they might not be able to make realistically.

Sounds like Wal Mart is sucking up to Bloomburg to get a store in NYC.
Also sounds like I won't be going to Wally World anytime soon.
probley safer not to anyway.

I'm glad I spent the extra $30 and got my 10/22 at an Owner Operated shop.

At this point, I refuse to even buy ammo at wally world! I'll Definately NEVER buy a gun from them...I'll spend the few extra bucks at my trustworthy local dealers!

I remember awhile ago making mention of corporate America having certain rights as a legal entity and the government becoming strange bedfellows in order to dictate public policy and legislate against the citizens.

I believe I said something of the effect of ruling by proxy. The Corporations do not have have to respect your right to bear arms. They are not forbidden to create a registry etc. The government can rule through them.

I know that, to some, I am a constitutional purist and a tin-foil hatter, but I can deduce some trends that are going on. This is/was one of them.

I am much more concerned than I was before to boot.

This is dangerous territory that is being tread.

Video record each purchase? Wow. No thanks. I'm not so sure they calculated the result of these new policies in an accurate manner.
