Default What would you do after a shooting

Question:
You had to shoot a person, its over and the police are there, what do you do?

Since I posted the poll question I guess it's only fair that I give my opinion. So here goes:

1. Keep your mouth shut. Do NOT tell ANYONE your version of what happened. PERIOD!

2. IMMEDIATELY call 911 and report a shooting. It is "assumed" that the first person who contacts 911 is the victim; so be the first to call! DO NOT tell "your" side of things.

3. Call your attorney. If you don't have one, get one NOW.

4. Until the attorney arrives - Keep your mouth shut!

5. When the attorney arrives, follow his or her instructions.

I shot someone. I call 911 and say "A firearm has been discharged, please send an ambulance to <YOUR LOCATION>." I hang up the phone, check to see if the BG is alive. If he is then I continue to keep a watch on him, however will holster my weapon if I can maintain distance and he is clear. If he is not, I holster my weapon and wait for police to arrive. I do not say anything and ask for an attorney.

Options 1 and 2 will be determined by the totality of the circumstances. Option 3 should only be picked if you wish to see the inside of your county's jail.

Immediately call the police.

When asked what happened, say you were in fear for your life.

Request to call your attorney.

Call the police, tell them you were attacked and were in fear of your life (That and defending the life of another are the ONLY reason I'd shoot someone) Ask for an attorney, and keep my mouth shut until s/he was there to advise me.

If I shot someone, I'm pretty sure someone heard the shot and called 911. I would collect my thoughts and make the call to 911 as well. I would not go into detail as to what occured because 911 calls are recorded. I would not want that information to be used against me down the road. I would holster my weapon and surrender it to the police. The waiting game would begin and I would make sure that I kept my mouth shut, until my attorney was present.

^LOL Yeah. Make sure you reload.

Seriously, this is a good thread. What the hell do you do if you just shot, and killed someone in a general situation?

I gather call the police.
Get an attorney to arrive at the scene by calling a hot line (Is there one?).
Remain silent.
Closely follow along with the attorney so that you full-proof the situation.

Right?

As proven by recent case law, just tell them he had a PS3 controller in his hand. That should clear all your charges. Also try to get a chance and shoot a random dog. That always helps.

All jokes aside, secure the person who has been shot, call the police, call your lawyer,

STFU,

then prepare to lose all your savings + house + cars to the deceased family.
