Default MKIII Subsonic or High Velocity

Ok I've read that hyper velocity rounds are not as accurate due to the fact that they wobble. Now I was under the impression that the wobble effect only occurs at or after the 100yrd mark when the bullet speed drops below the speed of sound and is over taken by the sound waves. Being a pistol with no scope this should not be an issue ? right? I've also read here or on other forums , cant remember, that the Hyper velocity rounds beat on the action of these pistols to much. whats your opinion on this , my view is that its a .22lr pistol and should handle anything LR. I'm asking because subsonic ammo is harder to find than hyper velocity is, most of the bulk ammo I've purchased and seen on the shelves are high velocity and with the problems I hear these pistols having at first could be a result of the use of subsonic during the first inital 500rds of use. subsonic seems like a light load would cause more FTF problems than a light load high velocity round would...What are your views , experiences, or expert opions on these subjects. Thanks in advance for your time.

Default Re: MKIII Subsonic or High Velocity

Here's my take on .22 velocities...

I shoot standard velocity out of my MKIII 22/45.
I use subsonics and standard velocity match grade ammo in my Anschutz 1807 target rifle.
I use whatever the hell is handy in my Ruger 10/22 rifle. I do not use subsonics in the 10/22 though.

For the range you're shooting a pistol at, standard velocity is just fine. In my opinion.
