Ya Philly is no joke anymore the sad part is most of the murders and felonies are being commited by the youth. They know that they can get away with things that adults could not. The corner boys know also know that there willing to do anything to belong to something. Hate to say it but there is few sections in this city that I would feel safe enough not to carry. My solution carry every friggin where all the time haha.

Personally, I'm going to feel free to point out jackassery when I see it. Just because you can skirt the rules doesn't mean that your conduct is in any way productive. What you're doing is playing a child's game. Sure, you might be technically within the rules here, but your conduct is blatant trolling and it's something you consistently bring to nearly every OC-related thread.

Anywho.....Back to OP.

Today was an all OC day.

In fact....I'm beginning to contemplate if OCB stands for Old Country Buffet or Open Carry Buffet!

Places OC'd today:
OCB - Packed for breakfast. Kids loved it. It should be illegal to have bacon and sausage on a buffet - thank GOD my health & life insurance has good coverage!

Target - Daughter wants a High School Musical messenger bag - they didn't have one. We haven't been to target for a while - walked around.

Toys R Us - no messenger bag. Poor decision making on my part to bring all 4 kids into toy store instead of sending Mom with bag-wanting daughter.

Home Depot - buy new wall switch for master bedroom (stuck permanently on), wire nuts and electrical tape......only to later find out I should have bought the freakin ALMOND color, not the white. Will exchange another day.

Wal-Mart - Hard clumping cat litter and peanut butter ice cream for the wife. It was a tactical purchase - I went in solo through Tire, Lube Express without a cart. Checked out in front of the store and had to walk all the way across the store & out the side back to the van. I realized what a dumbass I am for thinking I was such a tough-guy not needing a cart. 35lb box of litter with a tub of ice cream perched on top slowly turned into 70lbs by the time I got to the exit.

Sheetz in Dickson City. Waited in busy line to pay for my Rockstar (I freakin LOVE that stuff!).

Overall assessment? GOOD.
The crowd in OCB was well aware of the firearm. I think it sparked some discussions at the tables around us. As you know, there is no waitress and all 4 kids want stuff the entire FREAKIN meal....and never at the same time. And when they're done eatin' all of them want to take staggered trips to the restroom to satisfy their restroom curiosity.
But everyone was MORE than polite and, as always, my kids invariably get in conversations with strangers around us - My kids say "Hi" to them & spark a conversation, or folks (usually kind older folks) come to us to say "Hi".

Everyone was pleasant.

All the other places???? Who knows? I'm so used to OC now that, though I am aware of who is standing around me and I generally quick-assess their disposition, I don't bother to even TRY to see if others are noticing. i live my life and that's it. If anyone notices the firearm - I'm can't tell.

OCB was different. You often walk amongst the tables and people are focused on my hip - then they lean into each other and yadda-yadda whisper. Nothing bad though.

It was a good day overall. No hitches.....'cept for the white, not almond, light switch!

It really does go from being nervous the first time, to just living your life, rather quickly doesn't it? Good report.

Keeping the momentum of yesterday - I continue to OC:

Radnor Cleaners - Owner noticed me walking home earlier today (Sat) - I asked how she knew it was me - and with a big smile said - I saw your gun

Sunday...
King Street Grill in Frazer (Chester county) - a couple kids noticed the 1911 - told their father - he looked at my wife and I sitting there eating breakfast and said - "good for him" and they went on their way

Vic & Dean's in Wayne - no issues
Walking in Wayne - no issues
.....Off to OH and VA for the week....

Well, it seems you were polite, and addressed the concerns with diplomacy and tact. You didn't get drawn in to emotional arguments. Good for you.

I'd wager the boys, who were more observant than her mother, will also conclude walking about society armed is not a bad thing, either.

You haven't broken any rules, but speaking for myself, your constant trolling and negativity has prompted me to ignore most of your posts. I get that you don't like OC, but do you have to be an ass about it? Or is your mind so closed that you can't let someone do something with interjecting your opinion? You must be great fun at the dinner table.

Then, after you've made your inflammatory post denigrating something we do that is legal, you hide behind the rules like arrant coward. You come out from behind the moderators skirt, cast a few rocks and duck back. You may have the most articulate reasoning but your relentless posturing serves no purpose but to annoy the other members and alienate new people seeking advice.

Give it a rest. You're a one-trick pony and for myself, I'm tired of it.
