Default taking out a first time shooter

nice day at the range today.

took an old friend of mine out, he was very anti in the past, has dropped the politics for image crap since we have grown up. But had had a real fear of guns, having never had a positive experiance with them. Only ever seeing one when he was getting robbed.

We have had an email correspondance for a bit debating politics and have been on a gun rights discussion for a bit. It suprised me that he had "opened his mind" and was receptive and accpteing of the message.

I had a standing invitation that if he ever wanted to go shoot, and experiance first hand what the resposible use of firearms was like I would gladly take him. So he took me up on it.

Had a blast.

Seriosly, when we went over safety and handling the empty guns at my place he was visibly shaking.

Next time he wants to try out my AR

May never become a gun owner, but at least he is on our side.

anyone else got any good stories of intoducing someone to firearms?

Your right, at least he will be a "gun voter". Good job!

Be safe (and spread the gospel of the gun )

Look at DC, look at NY, look at Chicago, California." And "Well I guess if you stand up for one right you have to stand up for them all."

I think he has matured, as we all do, and has changed his stances on things as he has grown up.
