Since firearms are an expensive investment and we all try to give them the best of care.
I ran across this on another site and found the results interesting and wasn't too surprised by the results. The one thing that surprised me in the test the WD 40 results. I have been using Tetra and Corrosion-x on my personal firearms and I am happy with the result I get from them. http://www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/Gun...?p=0&t=1&i=503 grizz Last edited by GRIZZLYBEAR; December 26th, 2006 at 10:47 AM. I've heard many people using WD for multiple projects. Good find Grizz. The nice thing about WD is it's cheaper than the other products that were being reviewed.

most of WD40 is kerosene.....thats the degreaser.
problem is, after a while, WD40 residue sets up like varnish. I use Prestone Silicone spray, works well, even under heat, and protects against humidity too.
