Default Animal Bite force

my friend and i have been arguing for days now. which living animal has the strongest bite force in pounds per square inch? i say that is is the hippo or saltwater crocodile and he says it is the great white shark, and that i has a 40,000 psi bite force(what an idiot) but he won't believe me because i can't find solid evidence. i want to know because he keeps yelling at me saying that i know everything and that i am a dick. i just want to prove it to him.

People have lived Hippo bites, Croc and aligator are like a vice, if you dont break the jaw, it wont open, Certain dogs are pretty harsh, Horses are tough, but of all of them, I would stay away from a shark.

i know the shark may have the worst bite but it does not have the strongest in terms of jaw strength. i just want to know who has the strongest bite in psi.

In relation to body size the Tasmanian devil has the strongest bite of any living mammal. Saw it on Explorer

From National Geographic:

Quote:
Great white sharks, Nile crocodiles and even the Tyrannosaurus Rex – all colossal beasts feared for their terrifying bites. But which animal has the most monstrous bite? To find out, Dr Brady Barr uses a special bite-meter to measure the force of each animal's jaw. He wrestles a 2.4-metre nurse shark and carefully crawls down a red wolf's burrow, tempting it to take a bite. From the air to the ocean, Brady looks at creatures big and small and finds super strength in some surprisingly small packages. A Tasmanian devil exerts almost the same bite pressure as a grey wolf more than six times its size. Brady even examines the bite force of the T-Rex. The results: a T-Rex could exert 2,721 kilograms of bite force – the equivalent to being crushed by a Hummer. But the T-Rex has some competition for the "King of Bite Force" title. Brady finds a croc whose mouth is so powerful, it has the strongest bite force of any living animal ever recorded.

Definitely a salty.

As a side note, all crocs and alligators have extremely strong jaws when biting down. HOWEVER, did you know that they have extremely WEAK jaws when opening?? It's relatively easy to hold their mouths closed once they clamp down.
