Good points. I gotta admit, probably 5 years ago I could've agreed with banning handguns. However, once I started hanging out on a forum that had a 2A section, I slowly but surely began to see the way I do today. Now I can't even reckon what the hell I was thinking.

Dewd... Yer talking about Pennsyl-tucky folks showing up at State College for Obama's rally..

Don't you know by now that you can fool some of the voters some of the time, but you can fool ALL of the foolish Pennsylvania voters ALL of the time.

That's a fact. Just look at Harrisburg.

You're talking about a liberal majority in State College area. The town is an academic town and they've got their heads so far up their own asses, they acutally belive their shit don't stink. Most of the supporters were college students from PSU and probably surrounding schools. (Juniata College comes to mind. I went to school there and was pretty disgusted by much of the liberal nonsense they teach.) Can't say i'm suprised that that many people showed up.

you can't make a blanket statement about "central PA" that includes both PSU and the surrounding rural areas. outside of PSU...and especially outside state college...i think you will find very few anti-gunners.

however, the native population in that area is not much large and might actually be smaller than the temporary student population.

PSU draws students from all over...and most of them only stay there for 4 years. these people are not actually "central pennsylvanians" any more than someone from potter county who goes to harvard for 4 years is a "bostonian".

I agree.. although there are a lot of people in State College who have been indoctrinated at PSU who stayed there after school. Once you're outside of Bellefonte, it gets rural and thus more conservative... however, it is also a very old area. Old people will vote democrat because, lets face it, they care more about social security and medicare than they do self preservation.. lol. I'm originally from Frenchville (bout 45 minutes northwest of State College), and that's how the old folks feel about it. Although after talking to a few people, it's hard for people from an older generation to choose between a woman and a black man.

You should have came north to Penn College in Williamsport. (tech school owned by Penn State). My one instructor in my major would invite the students and other teachers up to his 400 acre cabin on finals prep day. He'd say "bring your quads, dirt bikes, guns, fishing poles, and if your of age and prefer a certain drink bring that also. I'll supply the hotdogs, soda, and Busch." And we'd spend the day shooting pigeons and targets.

Back on topic though. If Obama, Hillary, McCain or any other candidate was speaking at my school or near there I think I'd go if I had the time. Just to see a possible future president speak, and to hear all the BS that they try to get you to believe they will do. I think it would be a good experience.
