Unhappy Afraid of pictures

Maybe this does not belong in this sections so moderators feel free to move it. But I feel ashamed and a little upset that I am afraid to post pictures of my firearms. I have posted a pic here and there of a firearm or two but I am afraid that someday I might find myself standing tall in front of a judge and have some slimey, silver tounged defense attorney arguing that I owe the family of the unfortunate all of my money because I am some crazed "gun nut" and proudly display my collection at every chance. Does anyone else share in this fear? Is it unbased? Am I in a sense letting the anti's get the better half of me?

It may be because I am a modest man but I cannot see getting Masaad Ayoob to come defend my picture posting. I feel I could reasonably argue my way out of many of the standard pitfalls that are tried. But I can't see how I could get myself out of the stereo type hole if a defense were to try this in court.

Your thoughts?

here's what I think...

Oh, yeah, and...

There's actually one of those that I no longer own, and others are not pictured... Some people worry about it(posting pics), I don't.

As for the "worry", I think there's more to worry about someone seeking you out to steal them than being portrayed as a "gun nut". I bet if you asked the general population(sheep)how many "guns" is an acceptable number to own, "one, if any" would be the most popular answer.

If you have more than one. You are a gun nut. Sorry.

The idea of a DA finding you on this site is very far fetched. First they would have to know about this site, then they would have to find you that you post on this site... and so on... post away

You've got to ask yourself. "Can anyone link/discover my real identity based upon my PAFOA user name and posted content? Can someone (anyone) then take advantage of that info? I'd say it's a darn good possibility.

I don't think it's far fetched but I do question what utility it could be to civil hearing.
A love of guns does not make a justifiable shooting unjustifiable.

To the OP. I wouldn't worry about it either. I think this is much like the handloads vs factory ammo for defense debate. Lots of cautionary talk with no examples to support the concern.

i don't have a problem posting pics of just the weapons.

it's people that post pics while displaying poor/incorrect firearms handling skills that bother me more. adding funking/questionable backgrounds is another thing as well. i've seen satanic looking backgrounds that just look like an anti's wet dream. nothing like making a gun owner look like some kind of loose cannon.

My fear stems not from the actual trial in which I will have to prove that the shooting was justified but rather in the civil suit that will follow in which the family will attempt to sue me for wrongful death.

I find it completely "fetched" that by using my forum profile they can get my email address and very easily link it to me. Not to mention being the type of forum this is and others are we tend to be more social than lets say a video game forum. So we tend to share more information in order to furher our cause and meet people with the same interests.
