What kind of ammo were you using? and then what type of magazines these are probably the first place to start looking when having feeding problems. Most function problems are either ammo or mag related so start there, Use good brass cased ammo and known quality mags and try again.

crap, i meant to post that info up...
i cant see it being related to either due to HOW it is hanging up. it is hanging up about 1/4 inch behind the bolt stop and is a PITA to get "un-stuck"... ammo is remmington 55 grain .223 from wallmart mags are ones i got from... well they are mil spec... ya dig? lol they have worked MANY ranges and it did this on 4 mags. all are made by different people... all are ugly, but in GREAT shape inside. i cleaned them and put them back together less than a month ago.

Hanging up on the rear of the mag?
If the burr doesn't catch when there is no ammo, I can't see how it would matter since it would catch the bolt carrier. Or...something in your lower may not be put together right. Strip out the bolt and carrier and look for anything loose......maybe the buffer detent pin?

several possible issues:
1 wrong buffer/spring combo, or a problem in that area. if you take the upper off the lower, are there any marks indicating that the key has hit the rear buffer tube receiver ring? If so, don't shoot again until you replace the spring and bufffer with the correct one for that length buffer tube. 2 carrier or firing pin is hanging up on the hammer notch if the firing pin has bent the retaining cotter pin, or if the wrong size collar pin has been used, this can happen 3. buffer pin detent is loose repair/replace 4 gas key is jamming the gun up if its loose. tighten the gas key. thats kinda the limit if this is whats going on, not too much in the back of the gun that can cause this aside from what i've mentioned. its kinda hard to improperly assemble the forward assist and have the gun still work at all, AND have the assist still in the upper.
