So, I took my son into the woods to teach him how to shoot. He is 9. We were using a Daisy powerline 856 set at 5 pumps shooting BB's. I gave him a five minute safety briefing. Then spent about ten minutes explaining the B.O.S.S. principle and sight picture. Shooting from the prone supported position, he hit high and left within an inch @ 27ft. I adjusted the sight and next shot, deadon bullseye. Just wanted to brag a bit
![]() *Of course the next half hour or so he was all over the place, but he did real well, staying on paper and keeping his groups fairly tight.

Hitting bullseye is great but spending time with your son is the best part of the day. Enjoy every minute together. Hope to see many more targets.

Thanks guys
I showed your responses to the boy, and he got a kick out of the Tex remark

Nice shooting!
I can't think of a better family activity than target shooting.

Nice............ I have 3 boys. all were interested when younger. as they turned into teenagers the desire faded a bit. they still go with me but they all have their own stuff going on as well.

My son turns 10 near the end of this year. I plan on taking him shooting for the first time this summer. I want to get him a BB gun too, but I fear that my wife will freak out.
