I'm in Allegheny County, and it took me a full 3 weeks. I had filled out the paper work at the courthouse, and 3 weeks later, The yellow card came in the mail, and off to the courthouse I went.

My gf, however, drove to the sheriff's office, found a parking spot, walked in with me, filled out the form, and walked out of the office with a LTCF in her purse in about 25 minutes. That was in Fulton County.

But she likes mine better tho, since it's prettier
Hers is a plain white card with the standard info and picture on it, and nothing on the back. Mine was more "official" looking with a faded county sheriff logo in the background and sheriff office info in the back of the card. Both ours are of the plastic variety rather than paper.

Huntingdon County, it took me about two days. I dropped off around 5:00 in the evening. My first reference stopped by my work the next morning to tell me he had spoke to Sheriff Dept. The following morning, Sheriff's Office called to say I could pick it up when I am ready.

Mine took about 30 minutes. I asked the Sheriff why other Counties take days or weeks. He stated that Bucks does them on the spot because if they delay and run the back ground check after the person applying leaves and they are wanted for an outstanding arrest warrant they can't arrest the person on the spot.

I had to wait the full 45, but one of my references was out of town on vacation and did not return the card the Sheriff sent. By the same token, the Sheriff sent me a card saying that one of my references did not send the card back, and would I like to have them send it to some one else.

My wife had hers in about 35 days.
