North, East, South and West

Interested to here from the regions how you view the attitudes re gun ownership - carry even.

I am sorta SW - or if you will - South Central and a bit West of center! (Bedford County). Good hunting country and I'll wager plenty of gun owners. I know quite a few CCW folks and also know from the Bedford SO that CCW uptake is pretty brisk. Despite plenty of gunnies - I am still sensing that something like open carry at Johnstown Galleria for instance - would still find some paranoid sheep start bleeting and produce a ''man with gun'' scenario!

I wonder tho whether folks in and around Philly have more problems over attitudes, than I do over here perhaps. I would assume that the Northern half of the state is pretty good, as well as my area.

What tho about major conurbations like Harrisburg area - York, Reading etc? I tend to feel that the SE of state is less friendly?

north central (where i grew up) is very pro-gun.

south west (where i live now) seems to be pretty pro-gun overall. some of the politicians aren't, but judging from the number of LTCFs issued in allegheny county and the surrounding counties, many of the people must be. also, most of the people i know around here...even the "liberals"...are either pro-gun or at least not really anti-gun.

(i do think open carrying in pittsburgh would possibly cause a ruckus, though...depending on who saw it.)

The southeast seems to be indifferent to slightly against, primarily due to the proximity to Filth-a-delphia. That's not to say there aren't LTC'ers around; there's lots. But as a percentage of the general populace, I'd say we're definitely a minority.

And the philly media paints a pretty nasty picture of guns around here, not that this point is new information.
