Thanks, Michele.

And thanks to all the people who have expressed kind thoughts.

After all these years, I can assure you, I have a guardian angel. Or, in this case, angle

Looked like. I'm unsurprised that the soft lead of your bullet didn't stand up well do a close range impact with that.

Given what you've said about a disability that requires you to keep a round in the chamber since you can't chamber a round quickly, if I were you I'd consider a classic DA/SA pistol, in a holster, if you want to keep a gun by your bed, and consider placing the gun somewhere where you have to work just a bit to get to it.

Frankly, my gun is chamber empty and in a holster at the bedside. Actually, it's Cathy's XD9 Tactical at night, because I don't want a loaded .357 revolver within reach while I'm sleeping. Your incident illustrates why. The gun is less ready, but I live in a rowhome. My boy sleeps just across the wall with his head next to our nightstand (not that the gun is in view there), the house next to us has an infant in the room just on the other side of a a few layers of plaster and wood. I can't afford to fuck up, whether awake, asleep, or just groggy, so safety has to take precedence over having the guns immediately ready for action.

I do have one more question, since you were trying to reset the snooze. You think maybe that every time you reach for that button for a while you are going to come jerking wide awake? Think of the time you'll save in the mornings LOL

#1 Glad you're OK man. Next time, make sure you set your alarm Glock a little further away.

I keep my pistol on the floor which makes me at least partially lucid before I could get my hand on it.

I also have 2 15lb attack dogs which should be able to give me a few seconds to gather my thoughts before grabbing the holstered pistols.

I personally choose to carry guns with no external safety.

I shoot .40 in 1 carry gun and 9mm in the other. I trust the 9 to do anything the .40 could do.

Refer back to #1.
