It's ok. I use it for light cleaning and lubing. Usually I use Hoppes 9 gun oil for lubing my guns.

Usually I use Jergens.

Wow, I apologize for that. But I couldn't help it. Inside every adult male is a 13 year old teenager that refuses to die, and sometimes has to get out the dick joke every once in a while.

It works but it does not last very long, especially on AR15's. I like the convenience of the aerosol can but there are better lubricants available.

DemonOfTheFall after a dab or two of Jergens becomes "AngelOfTheRise"?

Default Re: Rem Oil

Rem Oil passed all MilSpec tests, and was cleared to be used in commands that allowed it. I liked it becuase it came out just about the time Break Free CLP changed to that Citrus base....the Rem Oil made the Armory smell better!

I still use Rem Oil for everything but bores......live by Shooters Choice for bores, Gun Scrubber for actions and tight stuff, and Rem Oil for basic lube and wiping off........I said WIPING OFF......get your minds out of the gutter....besides...it causes friction rashes after a bit of flogging.

There was a thread here last fall from a company in Upper Saint Clair(iirc) that was giving away gun oil samples. I never got my sample, so I don't remember the name. Has anyone used it and it it any good? I would like to buy local. Sorry for the hijack.

You're likely talking about Weapon Shield. Some of the guys on here have been using it.

As for Remoil......it is a poor lube under load/pressure from my experience and not good for reducing wear.

I agree. IMHO it's too thin and dosent stay put. I like to think of it as "burn off" in a AR15 type weapon. I use a heavier lube that will handle heat and cycle longer. Militech is decent, but to be honest...I have been known to use Mobil One synthetic motor oil. $6.00 is cheap when you get a quart!
