Wasn't a kid beaten to death on a church steps in Phila. While the 911 operators was arguing with the person who called it in ?? Can't remember the year or if it was Eddie who was mayor at the time or Wilson Good

Larrymeyer, I'm not trying to pick a fight, but this strikes a nerve. After 22 years in law enforcement, I have never seen another officer calmly finish his coffee and donuts before responding to a call where someone might be in danger. On the contrary, we'll leave another incident that we're already on or leave that $10 meal sit on the table to try and get there NOW.
I'm not going to argue and say that it can't or doesn't happen. Given the number of police in this country I expect there may be some who really don't give a damn when they get there. Your statement though seems like a slam on cops in general.
Having said all that, it's an unfortunate fact that the police in many instances can't get there in time. I live and work in a town where response time is pretty quick, but it can still take several minutes. Those minutes are too long for us as well.
