Better a smart ass than a dumb f*ck....

@piste: you might want to check to see if there have been any amendments proposed....

I lost PCN years ago when I went to DirectTV. On a whim, I googled PCN and found you can see it streaming on the net. Can't believe I didn't think of it sooner, and thought I'd mention it in case anyone else is interested.

Wow! I can't believe (but sadly, not really) how much some of these representatives don't understand existing law.

Rep. Metcalfe has a proposed amendment to expedite the issue of a LTCF to someone who has credible evidence of being in immediate danger. The reps from Philly can't believe that the "45-day waiting period" would be brushed aside to allow someone to immediately obtain a LTCF upon passing PICS.

One other thing that annoys me is that Rep. Metcalfe keeps referring to a "carry concealed permit". I know he's one of the really good guys and fights hard for us, but geez, use the right terms for crying out loud!

Thanks for the breakdown of what's doing on with this, I'm Armed, if you don't mind, what was the synopsis of the Metcalfe amendment A06348? I either didn't see it or missed it. Looks like it's up for third consideration and final vote on the whole thing tomorrow according to the house calendar. Doesn't seem like we got much out of this if the Castle Doctrine amendment got pulled. I was really hoping for the civil liability to be eliminated in a justifiable shooting.

Roll call lists on the amendments can be found here. They are towards the bottom. http://www.legis.state.pa.us/cfdocs/...dte=04/01/2008

The Metcalfe amendment basically would fast-track the LTCF application process for someone who is in documented imminent danger.

Does anyone know what happened to the amendment that would allow valid LTCF holders to skip the instant checks when buying a gun? I didn't see that one come up.

Rep. Harper also introduced an amendment. I completely missed that part.

Great job supplying all that great info guys. I believe it's essential for all of us to be informed on facts/status of legislation all around....which the PA legislation web site isn't the best at clearly providing..but at least it's there. IMO in many threads/posts there's way too many folks blowing smoke out their @ss and getting their panties in a bunch over legislation without having any clue of the facts.

BTW...pretty nice that they passed the LTCF allowed in state parks....
