Well guys I decided the WASR was a bit of a gamble, but I took my chances anyway, and ordered one -

After I get done giving my K98k its make over, this gun is next. It looks pretty coo, mags fit in well, and the sight looks like its on right. Just have a feeling that everyone else will have more fun shooting it than me.

I seriously doubt you'll be disappointed, as long as you keep in mind it was never meant to be tight like your K98k. It was meant to be the K98's nemesis. Looks like you already took delivery, by the photos. Is this so?

Why is this? I would have committed serious capitol crimes when I was 18 to get what you now have. They were very rare back then.

Also, Will...buy 7.62x39 ammo NOW. That thing eats it in 30 round gulps. When the ammo's all gone, that gun gets really quiet and cold, and everyone knows you're out. Also, this guy recent sold an AKM similar to yours and likely still has the mags to it. See if he'll cut you a deal.

Yes, they do. The only thing that beats a "beater" AK is two beater AKs.

Now, who will be the first person to identify the original function of the deep horizontal groove in Jaybell's buttstock?

Following hurricane Katrina and the breakdown of humanity that followed, I decided to get something that could handle crowd control better than my lever action rifles. It so happened, about that same time, that The Shotgun News was running a very informative article on DIY AK's. I used the information from the article along with some questions asked on a few forums and built my own Romanian AK from a parts kit and the required six US compliance parts. It cost about $200 and required nothing more specialized than a drill press, some hand tools and a bit of ingenuity. The rifle operates flawlessly and was a lot of fun to build.

4th item on the right side. They might also have that one that WASR3 has, but that is plastic, I know that for a fact. This one is metal (picture). Definately made overseas for that price.... Checked....made by UTG, which makes most of their stuff in China. Not saying thats bad or anything...

Thats the one on that WASR, halfway down on the left side.

Both are $69.99 and 7.95 i think flat shipping. Rogers a great guy to order from too.
Ah so its a good site to order from, good to know . Im looking around for a cheeper price with no luck, so Ill keep you guys posted. I think im gonna outfit my WASR with a nice front furniture and a SAW pistol grip.
