IRS SCAM when it comes to illegals

While researching the Swift "Raid" I found this loophole and from what I learn:

The IRS issues a taxpayer identification number to illegals. They use it in lieu of social security numbers. As long as the illegal immigrant is paying federal income taxes, the IRS will not tell any other federal agency about it.

I am sue other members are probably aware of this but I not as smart as they are just learn about this scam.

I guess I better quite following this thing so closely as I am starting to get POed about this whole deal.

Unbelievable. Sad, but not surprising, that a govt. agency is more concerned with $$$ than protecting actual citizens.

The taxpayer ID number does not allow an illegal alien to work in the U.S.. I am not saying that these numbers are not used by illegals to obtain work from lazy/unscrupulus/criminal employers who really don't care if they are illegal or not, but it is not a LEGAL means of circumventing immigration.

It is used when a LEGAL NON-RESIDENT alien (who is not authorized to work) is claimed as a dependant when filing taxes. This is more common than you would think. It can also be used in several other circumstances that I will not go into due to excessive typing.

That being said, the IRS does not play well with other federal agencies when it comes to ferreting out illegal aliens. They are not pro-active when it comes to identity theft, such as illegals using someone else's SS#. I am not standing up for the IRS, I have many complaints of my own.

I blame lax enforcement on employers for creating the magnet (easily obtainable jobs) that brings the illegal aliens here. If ICE (and the politicos that give the marching orders)would get off their collective arses and enforce the laws we already have on the books, they might be able to do something about our immigration problem.
