I used to like him most of the time though.. There were a few things that I disagreed with.. I think he had one about video games...

I puzzled a little bit about that too, and here's where I ended up: They support the licensing of owners to even purchase a gun, let alone carry it. Abandoning that would be impossible for them since conservatives wouldn't buy it, and it would piss off the liberals. "No more licensing" means "No more licenses issued" which translates to "No more new gun sales" in areas that have such a process. Then they can re-double their efforts to outlaw and begin confiscation of the guns we already have.
