Default ar scope question

I just mounted a scope on my ar 15 bushmaster a3 and found that the clearance betweeen the scope and the charging handle is a little tight.
What can I do ? I really don't want to get higher rings.

can you pull the charging handle back? if not you are limited to getting higher mounts, a different scope or just use iron sights if you have them. can't really do anything with the charging handle.
