Only because Glock gives LEO's a free .45 Gap pistol with every purchase of a Glock Sport holster.

Yes as matter of fact, I do.

    9mm JHP (UMC) cost $23.24/100rds = 23cents/rd
    40S&W JHP (UMC) cost $31.76/100rds = 32cents/rd

    .

While 9cents is not much to pay for an ammo(specialy if that ammo is gonna save your life), one must recognise the fact that the you have to practice with your gun. And practice alot!
While it may not look much first few outing to range, just wait until you start shooting box of those each time your out on range...

There's a fine example of what I said before about trigger pullers and policy makers.

LE depts bought a pistol with that hardest to find ammo, which was (at the time) the most expensive for individual officers to practice with, which had NEVER been proven before on the street.

Depts bought into the .45GAP because Glock and Speer made it "worth their while". If you ever find out what PSP actually paid for the guns, let me know.

We were in touch with the guys who were keeping tabs on that whole transition to a new pistol. It was "yeah, it's pretty much set on the G22.." to 2 days later and "we're getting the Glock 37!". Speer had warehouses full of the ammo, and Glock needed depts to adopt it so they could use them for marketing.

Think about how many depts out there issue long guns without slings....

I don't take a lot of cues from LE depts about what to carry...
What SWAT teams use (as they have A LOT more freedom, and knowledge about what they're asking for) is another story.

You're talking about 1mm difference in frontal area. There are still quite a few notable depts issuing the 9mm. Think about the Navy SEAL's using a Sig226 w/ 9mm ball ammo....you think they didn't think that one through?

Do YOU see a big difference here?

LOL, yes I see a difference. The 9mm's look like the difference between your date saying,"DAMN", and,"No really honey it's just fine".

Maybe because the 40's aren't selling as well as Gunmakers hoped, and they are offering tremondous discounts on these weapons to local LEO's.
