Default NRA has REALLY blown it this time!

Normally, I have been a supporter of the NRA because they do a LOT in defending our 2A rights. However, they have really "screwed the pooch" this time. Why do I say that? It is because of a decision that they made regarding their publications, and unfortunately, I see the NRA losing quite a few members here shortly because of it....A LOT of women who are members are now HIGHLY torqued off by NRA's decision to stop publishing their "Woman's Outlook" magazine. This was a GREAT publication, and addressed several issues that gun owning and carrying women have that guys are completely unaware of (or, at least if they ARE aware of these issues, they can not relate to them) that are simply NOT covered in NRA's other publications. Besides, a lot of us have husbands who are already receiving 1st Freedom, which is what they plan on sending to us instead, and a great many have NO interest in hunting, which is their only other magazine choice. In addition, we have KIDS who read our magazines, and we do NOT want them subjected to the ads for "male enhacement" products that are found in the other 3 publications. In short, several women have ALREADY cancelled their NRA memberships, and a whole lot more are getting ready to do so.

Any of you guys want to help the gals out and write to NRA and add your voices to ours to see if we can get Woman's Outlook back?

Not that it justifies the NRA's decision, but they also have American Rifleman. If you're not interested in hunting, this would at least be an alternative to prevent you from receiving duplicate issues of the same magazine.

I think it would make sense to incorporate the women's outlook magazine into one of the other publications, either rifleman or 1st freedom. I think rifleman might be the best choice seeing how it deals more with the firearms and practical side of guns rather than the political aspect like 1st freedom.

Frankly I'd rather see more content in each magazine rather than more magazine choices.

Yeah, but are they going to do away with the "male enhancement" product ads in those magazines as well? Somehow, I rather doubt it.....

So by cutting your membership, arent you ensuring that the magazine will never, ever see the light of day again??

Im sure it wasnt profitable, or it was too much of a loss for them to produce it, but if women all over cut their support, then that will send a msg that women are not intrested in their product or NRA services.

What would make social and financial sense instead of cancelling the magazine, is to market it outside of the NRA to all women shooters. It would be a source of income by broadening their reader base and thus increasing revenue, and it would help turn more women on to the NRA.

IceFire. After reading your post i contacted the NRA and asked them about this. unfortunately they drooped the magazine do to lack of interest. just not enough members to support the publishing of it.they are going to incorporate some of the articles in to the first freedom magazine.i then asked about your concern about the male enhancement adds. they have had many calls on this. and suggested to contact the publication@nrahq.org for anyone who would like to get them to get the adds removed.

If you really want them to bring it back, instead of dropping your membership do the opposite. get more people to subscribe to it. I don't know what number they aer looking for. so ask the NRA. How many subscriptions would it take to get it going again.

Your first error was thinking that the NRA supported YOUR 2A RIGHTS.

BZZZTTTT WRONG.

Your second error was thinking that the NRA was about education and firearms ownership.

BZZZZTTTTT WRONG.

The NRA is a good ole boys club that has more of a stutus symbol than any real power (HOW MANY GUN LAWS HAS THE NRA REPEALLED?)

Sure they throw your money at important causes..... like, um, that really big 2A bill.. no wait...

Subscribe to an internet site that has your interests at heart.. not the NRA who sees you as a bumbper sticker and a dues payment.
