Default Receiver mount deer carrier

Since I traded in my 01 Dodge Ram (all black sport package w/no window cap) on a 04 trailblazer, I didn't want to stuff a deer into the back of the cartruck so I went about making a receiver mounted deer carrier.

I bought a 3ft pc of 2 inch tube steel and a 2ft pc of 2 1/2" tube steel from a local steel supplier.

I had some old bed rail stashed in the ga-rage so I drilled the 2" stuff and the 2 1/2 " stuff for hitch pins. I then cut the bed rail into 2 54" pcs and 20" pcs and welded the bed rails to the 2 1/2" tube steel. I took some smaller bed rail and welded 2 intermediate rails because i forgot to get a pc of extruded metal at the yard. The 2 1/2" slides over the 2" and gets pinned together with hitch pins,

I think you can buy these for $100 or so but it took me about 3 hrs or so and I got to use up some old steel.

I'll wash the blood off it and see if I can do a pic in the next day or two.

Anyone else use these deer hitch mounted carriers?

Now my buddy wants one and I have to find more bed rail.

Yep, I'd rather have the ticks outside than inside! The deer gets kinda dirty on the bottom from the spray coming off the rear tires in slushy weather.
