Whats the Best thing you've gotten out of being a Gun owner?
Besides the personal protection part of course.
Mine is that once I started shooting, I asked my dad to go along with me.. Now we actually hang out and talk about guns alot. He's really gotten into it  Plus I found out why the crap I'm so damn weird.. I got it from him! lolI also like the concept of taking responsibility for something.. Teaches you respect and to pay attention to detail. Yes I'm trying to post non-political things

A sense of responsibility.
I was introduced to shooting when I was just a young lad. A few years later, (when I was six), I got my first .22 rifle for Christmas. (Ithaca Model 49).  Safety and responsibility was paramount. Just about everything I've done in my life can be related to shooting and having my own gun. I always knew that if I Fü˘k up, I'm going to loose my gun. That's kept me in line for about 50 years and counting. I can thank my dad for making me proud of myself today because of the trust and responsibility he bestowed upon me so many years ago.

I got my first gun, a single shot .22 for Christmas 1952, so never was w/o a gun. The most enjoyment has been shooting and hunting with kids and grand kids.

Let's see, I've gotten a lot out of gun ownership. (in no particular order)
1. education 2. responsibility 3. stress reliever 4. friendship 5. another thing my wife & I both enjoy 6. sense of accomplishment (target shooting) 7. fun 8. PAFOA 9. something to do on a rainy day 10. protection 11. security This list is not all inclusive, it's just what popped into my mind at the moment. Bill

I gained a few new hobbies with getting into guns. I LOVE all of the education and information .... and I gained a few friends also .

In my case, it is the people that I have met and formed friendships with.
We shooters have much more in common than just the shooting sports.
