Thumbs up [French Creek Outfitters, Phoenixville, PA] great experience

Just got back from shooting at French Creek Outfitters. Range was nice and I was the only person there. Fred helped me and made good conversation and after watching me shoot, provided me with a chart on what I may have been missing (I shot off the mark between 6 and 8 o'clock). The cost was $12 an hour and you could use any ammo you wanted expect for steel casings, CCI Blazer and all Wolf ammo was not permitted. It was explained that the person who recycles thier casings didn't want non-brass casing. Seemed fair enough to me. Great overall experience! Would go back again and recommend to others.

Membership fees are as follows -

$300 Ultimate Family (Husband, Wife and Kids under 21) with free gun rental and 1 free guest, unlimited range time

$200 Enthusiast, unlimited range time

website - http://www.frenchcreekoutfitters.com/

There are more rates but this is what I found might interest the group.

Take care,

Rob

It's a good range, membership dues are slightly high.

I go there all the time and pay the hourly rate, which probably could've paid for a membership this year.

Matt and I shot there together once, we could probably get a small group down there to shoot.

It would be nice to meet others and shoot together, I'll post a proposal the next time I go down, I'll be going again next week after I get my new (to me) Kimber Compact (courtesy of John) to fire a .45 for the first time. Hopefully others will be able to make it.

I look forward to personally meeting some folks from this group...

Whenever you guys wanna get together and shoot, I'm there. Wed/Fri evenings, and Sat/Sun mornings are best for me.

BTW, they have a decent range, but don't buy anything there; their prices on just about everything are pretty high.

you can say that again, I bought my first pistol there, when I was still new to the area, and this site didn't exist....oh if I could only go back in time...

I'd be up for a get together there too. My evenings are usually free and my weekends will be after hunting season is over.

I just picked up a Glock 23 last weekend and I'm dying to run some ammo thru it.

Have shot at French Creek couple of times--did you guys notice how LOUD and echo eee (is that a word?) it is in there. I've been shooting at Target Master for several years and really noticed how loud those rounds seem at French Creek. Not used to the loudness and echo.

HA! Call me crazy, but I thought the guy next to me was firing SUPER .45's! I even asked what he was shooting cause it was SO much louder than my .45 he said it was a shorter 3" barrel but I didn't think it would have that much more bang! Haven't tried any other range locally and the last time I shot was a year ago at a Sheriff practice facility so I was hearing all kinds of big bangs there...
