Default How many firearms

I am new to the firearm ownership, I just had a couple questions..

How many firearms can you purchase I one time and is there anything extra I would need to do?

As far as York County goes can I file for LTCF before owning a firearm?

Technically there's no limit on the number you can purchase at one time. However you may peak the interest of a government agency if you try buying a complete arsenal.
Yes you can apply for a LTCF before you actually own one.

As others pointed out. No limit.

FYI, interesting info most are not aware of:
If you purchase more than one handgun from the same FFL within 5 business days the FFL must fill out a ATF Form 3310.4 "Report of Multiple Sale or Other Disposition of Pistols and Revolvers"
It's a triplicate form. The 3 parts go to:
1) National Tracing Center
2) Sheriff dept.
3) Retained in FFL's records

To see what is on the form see link:

Minor change in where they go Pa. Patriot. I had to do one about 2 months ago and the PSP sent it back saying that it needed to go to the police dept who had jurisdiction where I live. Well where I live the police dept. said talk to the Sheriff. I call Sheriff Nau and he said to send it to him, they'll take care of it.

I definitely agree that multiple purchases of any guns will probably raise some eyebrows but unless it is handguns no one will know because long arms are not reported to anyone, just annotated in the FFL Bound Book.

And the key there is BUSINESS DAYS. For the actual shop. If it's a shop that's open 1 day a week, that's 5 weeks before you can buy another handgun from that shop without getting the ATF form sent in.....

http://www.atf.gov/firearms/faq/faq2.htm#f5

Quote:
A business day for purposes of reporting multiple sales of pistols or revolvers is a day that a licensee conducts business pursuant to the license, regardless of whether State offices are open. The application of the term “business day” is, therefore, distinguishable from the term “business day” as used in the NICS context. Example: A licensee conducts business only on Saturdays and Sundays, days on which State offices are not open. The licensee sells a pistol to an unlicensed person on a Saturday. If that same unlicensed person acquires another handgun the next day (Sunday), the following Saturday or Sunday, or the Saturday after the reporting requirement would be triggered, the subsequent acquisition of a handgun would have to be reported on a Form 3310.4 by the close of the day upon which the second or subsequent handgun was sold.
