Sam's Club, yes.
I tend to step foot in the place about once a month and everytime i've been there they have an older woman at the door that ALWAYS ask's me or the wife to see our receipt. BUT I must say, showing my receipt is a lot easier than ending up in cuffs (sorry but I had to)

That's kind of odd. Must just be your store.

Bought handgun ammo once in the middle of the night. It wasn't strictly according to store policy, but nobody stopped me, either. One of my buddies got his hunting license in the middle of the night, too. It took a long time to get somebody to mind the sports counter. But next morning, he shot some birds. Job done.

I guess it is possable. I am dead between 2 of them, Mt. Pocono and East Stroudsburg and I only go to East Stroudsburg. I went to Mt. Pocono once and forget it the place is full of rude people and the parking lot hit and run is the highest in the state.

The one in East Stroudsburg I try to go to before dark and there is a younger woman at the door on the grocery end and the older woman at the door on the other. The older woman asks everytime. I guess it is possable that to her I look like a 40 year old thief

So I left, and just stuck to buying them out of .223 at $4.99 a box
Go to the PSP website, print out this page, and take it back to him.

Pennsylvania Firearm Dealers and County Sheriffs access the PICS program through a toll free telephone number, which is available for service from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. seven days a week, including holidays. If an individual is eligible to acquire a firearm, the PICS background check replaces the former, mandatory five-day waiting period. Operation has shown that approximately 60% of the individuals attempting to purchase a firearm are approved within minutes.
Is it possible that Dunham's closed at 9:00, and this is what he referred to? Ask if their lack of knowledge about the time the system is available is worth losing a gun sale.

I loked it up and NICS is operational between 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. Eastern Time

Did I miss something in this post? What does either NICS, PICS, NCIS, CIA or NSA have to do with this simple post which was about a store policy limiting the hours during which ammo was allowed to be sold in a WallyWorld store. I have never heard of NICS or PICS being checked for a simply ammo purchase.

Actually, the OP inquired about this limitation being a matter of law, as was indicated by a sign in a Wal-Mart store, at the sporting goods counter.

Given the low-level of accurate firearms law and regulation knowledge that those behind the 'gun counter' typically display, the conversation has somewhat evolved into why such a policy may be conceived as a "Federal regulation", when there is clearly no such limit in place. One possible reason for this mis-conception is that fact that firearms sales are limited to certain hours, based on the availability of applicable 'check systems' in a given area.

It's not. The suggestion was made in this thread that since they could not conduct firearms checks/transfers after 10PM that they simply decided not to sell any restricted items after that same time (as in ammo).

thats why I started to reload, I hate going in that store doring the day, I normally end up there around 1-2AM, theres one lady that works there that would get ammo for me at night and let me take it up front for me to pay, theres an older guy there to that knew who me from buying ammo all the time, he just started giving it to me to take up front. now I just sit here and pull a leaver tho to get my ammo. Ijust loaded 280 rounds of .223 today and 100 rds of 9mm.
