If you work second shift and want to get what you just realized you need so you don't have to waste time in the morning you're probably a criminal.

Actually, I just went to Dunham's tonight to pick up a... well, a gun, let's just leave it at that :P and the way time worked with other customers, it was about 8:50 before they got to me, and he told me that he couldn't call in because it closed down at 9, and I'd have to come back some other day if it took more than 10 minutes. (Despite a manager telling him to do it)

So I left, and just stuck to buying them out of .223 at $4.99 a box

Local wallmart has same policy for pistol ammo and rifle ammo, theyre int he locked counter. shotgun ammo is on shelves and you can check out. I was told it is because someone had a carwreck right outside, walked in, bought a box of ammo and ventilated the other driver. I politely ask the dept manager and still get my 5 boxes of WWB for next day at the range.

Yeah, that's what I had in mind. If that's the time you're able to be out and about to get the things you need, it's really a poor policy for the store.

I don't know why we've been focussing on walmart so much. But, it's been interesting. The variations from store to store really speak about their faulty business. Also, it divulges much about the whole theory of coporate branding and consistancy.

So, in the spirit of root cause corrective action, they (walmart) is assuming that car accidents will only happen after 10pm? Pop this idea with the wally employee who told you that...

Given my fucked schedule I am one of the people who gets to do their shopping at 11pm, which more or less limits my shopping to a 24 hour wallmart super center. They aren't dicks, they tell me they can't sell me the ammo because they're not supposed to, and then they do anyway.

I despise wallmart but untill there's mom and pop shops that will sell me ammo, oat meal, frozen food, fruits, vegies, camping supplies and batteries between 11pm and 1am I'm shopping there.

The clerk has asked me a few times since I buy 4 or 5 boxes at a time, and 11 before a training class. Also been asked if I was a cop a few times when jacket slipped back enough to show my XD.

Since you pay for ammo at the ammo cash register they are less anal about guns. I haven't tried OCing at the wally world because I don't want to get banned or have an incident. It would suck ass to get banned from wally world thats .8 miles from me. Next one is 12 or 15 miles I think.

Wal Mart tends to love broad policies kinda like the KISS program.

I always like the fact that when you walk IN the front door there is always someone there to greet you with a " Hello, Welcome to Wal Mart" and then after you spend your money and head for the car you get stopped and asked for your receipt.

to me it is like them saying,

WELCOME= please spend money!
GOODBYE= Did you steal anything?

Most of the WM sporting goods dept. Have a sign up that says NO FIREARMS OR AMMUNITION sales after 10pm. Nothing more than "We refuse to pay someone to stand here and sell ammunition at cost when we can't sell guns after PICS closes so we will hang a stupid sign that most people who don't know the law will decide that the mighty god Wal Mart has determined that it is illegal to sell guns and ammo after 10pm"

Sounds good to me.

and YES I hate Wal Mart!! LOL
