Re: MAC 10 M10/M11 - which one?
the M10 series of weapons, and the M11/9 or M12/380 are different weapon platforms that appear similar.
the M10 is larger, and as noted comes in 45 and 9mm.
the bonus of this is that the 45acp version can be converted to 9mm, but the 9mm version cannot without a magwell removal and modification.
also, the pure 9mm version takes rather pricey mags these days, the M10 in 45 can use modified grease gun magazines.
the M11/9 and M12.380 were develeoped by Sylvia and Wayne Daniels (aka SWD)
the M11/9 takes zytel mags, or, if a magwell conversion is done, Sten magazines.
they are shorter in height, have a higher rate of fire, and are a little more comfortable to shoot.
Also, ther are a LOT of accessories for the M11/9, most notably the Lage conversions, stock adapters, differnt length uppers, slow fire units, sights, etc.
the M12/380 is shorter in length, and more of a real machine pistol, and has an even higher rate of fire. The mags are somewhat pricey also.
if i had my choice, I'd go for the M11/9 over the M10...but if I wanted an M10, i'd get the 45 so i could also have 9mm convertability.
