never saw a good hollowpoint that worked regularly in a hipoint pistol.

an option is to use "PowRball" ammo, its a hollowpoint with a plastic bead in teh front to simulate a ball rounds ogive.

works good too.

however, I express serious reservations about the quality of the hipoint pistol, this is not a good quality firearm to possiblystake your life on.

dont take it as insulting please, just from my several years working in a gun show, they came in broken a LOT, and have no resale value.
hipoint has a great warranty, but that doesn't help when you are dead.

hope this helps

Like was stated. The high point is not a weapopn for preserving your life with.Im not ragging on high point or being a gun snob.Remember for all its qualities a high point is nothing more than a piece of zinc alloy and plastic in a blowback design? If you are going to use it for carry do not worry about hp's. Run some Winchester White box ball through it and it wil be most reliable. Any gun is better than no gun but reliability is of paramount importance in a defensive weapon. Do nor jeapordize the reliability of that weapon by tringto use more effective ammo. It is not any more effective if it causes the gun to jam.

If you think you have the right not to be offended. I suggest you promptly purchase a toe attachment and a twelve gauge. One time use is all that is necessary.

i don't get why people bash hipoints... i've put about 2500 rounds through my C9 and haven't had a single problem...

maybe it's defective... i'll return it and have them send me one that jams

I bought a 9mm carbine for 75 dollars with the cheap BSA red dot. It runs perfect. Fun/cheap, and pretty accurate. I have no complaints

My C-9 seems to enjoy using WWB JHPs and FMJs.

Inexpensive firearm, inexpensive ammunition, who could ask for anything more?

I squeeze the trigger, it shoots.

I've had a 40 S&W, .45, 9MM Carb. and 40 S&W Carb. I've never had any trouble with them. I've used ball lead, FP, HP, JHP, and TC in all of them.

I was contemplating buying a Hi-Point for my friends to shoot at the range when they went with me.. More and more I think about it I'm not gonna buy one because I'm gonna want to shoot it for the 9mm prices and if it sucks I'm gonna hate it.. I'd just get a different gun... Spend the $300 or $400 and get a new glock or something used for much cheaper..

And that's why they have horse races. WVBob never had problems with his, but RPM did. The same could be said for any brand, be it Glock, Kahr, or whatever.

I'm happy with mine, and for me that's good enough.

As for you, only you can answer that question.
