Default Fox Double-- lengthen stock

I want to use my Fox double but the shock is too short. I want to know if it is better to restock or add a butt or a recoil pad, too add (3"-4") length and still be able to put the gun back in original condition so to retain the value of the gun. It is a family hand down and is in excellent condition.

Dont fuck with original wood...

If you really need longer wood, either:

1. buy a replacement stock
2. buy a replacement gun

I agree, but I must ask....

Why do you need another 3-4" ?

Fox doubles should have a LOP of around 13 3/4" give or take an inch.

You would need a LOP of 17"-18" ?

I'm 6' and my LOP is 14 5/8" so that would make you approx 7' tall or more??

Is there a chance that the original stock has been cut off for a kid? If so, it's not worth a cent. Do with it what you want.

Boyds gunstocks makes walnut replacements.

An old Sterlingworth Fox double I picked up had been shortened for use by a kid. I picked up a replacement stock from Boyd's.
